Hello all,

i a have just installed tvpaint 9.5 pro on win 7 ultimate that is in VMware on my macbook pro (osx 10.
i have also installed my wacom intuos 4 driver.
when i connect the wacom to the macbook i choose to connect it to the windows.

the problem is, the tvpaint doesnt see the wacom pressure sensitivity.
i checked in the driver settings, in the sensitivity bar i can see that it does feel the pressure.

i used to have this problem with Parallels as well, thats why i tried using VMware instead.

Why don't you use the Mac version of TVP? On the download page, just enter your lock code, and choose the download for OSX.

because i need it on the VMware...

So strange... Bought a Mac but prefers to use VMware...

I don't understand why. One installs VMware or Parallels on Mac to run Windows apps that are not available for Mac , but since TVPaint is a cross-platform app it is simple to install it normally on the Mac OS partition and run it under Mac OS . There is absolutely no reason or advantage to run TVPaint on VMware or Parallels under Windows on the Mac.

I've never been able to get pressure sensitivity to work through a VM (I use VirtualBox on Linux to occasionally run some Windows stuff). I agree with everyone else, though, you should just run TVPaint natively in OS X

same here. I tried recently on Ubuntu 12.10 + VM Ware, no pressure sensitivity.

Shiran, TVPaint is a multiplatform software, so why do you need a VM Ware ?

I'd like to chime in here.
I've just downloaded the latest Parallels (version 8.0), and TVPaint on Windows through Parallels is more 'responsive' than than the native OS X TVPaint. I'd encourage anyone to try to replicate this with the trial version of Parallels.
The disadvantage is that I can only apportion some of my RAM to the virtual machine (currently using 4 of 8GB) and some of my CPU cores (2 of 8 cores), but even so, the brushes do perform noticeably better, and the Layer-Go Left/Go Right lag, and the dot-cursor-looking-different (issues that I have mentioned in previous posts) are nonexistent. I can't speak to the performance related to processing large stacks of images...
TVPaint, to me, seems 'happiest' in Windows, but constantly restarting with Boot Camp can get annoying. Parallels seems to be a good solution for now. I don't particularly like passing the wacom back and forth (the USB driver can only be active on OS X *or* the virtual machine), but it's much faster than restarting. I tried having two tablets side by side, but they electromagnetically interfere with each other.

Do you have the tablet pressure sensitivity ?

We have done many tests : the fastest TVPaint is on Linux, far ahead the other OS.

Of course I have pressure sensitivity! That's a 100% necessity for me.
I have an Ubuntu virtual machine set up in Parallels, also, but haven't installed TVP on it yet. I'll give that a try, although the cursor seems a little sluggish even when just navigating the desktop.

But why are there some differnces? is it emulated in some kind of way?
