There's a feature I found in TVPaint 10 in a layer panel which is related to preserving Alpha channel of a layer that functions like locking the existing pixels of a layer in Photoshop. I'm still using the Version 9 (professional) on my computer. I can't find that option on that version.
Do you know where I can find that option on TVPaint 9 ?

Either preserve alpha, or stencil. See manual.

in v10.x, the lock-Alpha button is located in the layers panel (or timeline panel),
one button per layer, so you can preserve the Alpha of several layers simultaneously,
in v9.x, the lock-Alpha button was located in the main bar (or main panel),
the last button right-side just before the proxy gauge,
and it took into account only the current layer's content.
