Hello there!
I've just started doing some animation with TVpaint (9.5).
So I couldn't figure out one thing and I would really appreciate if some helped me.
Say I have few layers, which is usual, and I want to make animation in one layer overlaying onto other animation from other layer. It's simple, but I do not know how to do it - how to set the priorities between layers.. if you know what i mean.
Here's little pic. Let's say the circle and square are two animated images in 2 different layers. What I get now is something like in picture no. 1. But I would like to know how to make it as in picture no. 2. DDD
I would really appreciate the help:3 Thank You!

Re: TVpaint 9.5/Dealing with LAYERS
You can grab any layer by its name and drag it to another location between other layers. Top in that list means artwork is in front of everything.

Here's the picture :
Re: TVpaint 9.5/Dealing with LAYERS
You have to fill the inside of the circle with white.
A newly created layer is totally "empty", transparent.

Quicktime is DEAD. Get over it and move on !
Re: TVpaint 9.5/Dealing with LAYERS
from 1 to 2 :
1) drag your "Circle" layer upon your "Square" one,
(select it by LMB-clic the thumbnail of the layer's head, + hold & drag
up to the square layer position in the layers stack.
2) if your black circle is empty, fill it (painting mode = "behind")
in white to make it opaque, so the square doesn't appear through it .
