I think that this article on artguides.org used a lot of the text of the interview that Elodie did with me.
But that doesn't matter too much, it is good advertising for tvpaint, I think. And for me too.

Great article!
But I'm curious; can someone explain how this "Alpha-Diff" mode works and what the advantage is compared to multiply, brush/layer transparency or a combination of both? I was fiddling around with the Alpha-Diff mode just now but I don't really see it...

Hey Sewie (Michael), as you can see, the advantage of alpha diff is that it doesn't "dry", so no overlappping areas (as you would get with feltmarkers). That's how I did all the shadows for Junkyard, because I could fliup in between drawings and paint on them, without getting weird overlapping strokes.
Anyhow, if you search for a post called "simple water" or something, there I uploaded a very simple alphadiff brush that gives a watercolor-like effect.

Wow! I totally need to get in on the alpha difference bandwagon. I had no idea that it made such a difference. Although in many cases, I want my watercolors to dry, I too often run into cases where it would be nice to not have it so.
