Hi dear Animators and Illustrators, dear creators of TVPaint
I've been working as an illustrator for 15 years, also teaching at an art school in Switzerland for some time. You may have a look at soio.ch if interested. I have a traditional background but i have also been using digital techniques and mix of analog and digital for those fifteen yeras. During that time i used tons of different software for drawing, painting and 3d design. Late last year I (re)discovered TVPaint and bought a licence for an ongoing project (years ago i considered it to be too expensive for my budget). In short: TVPaint is about the best software for a traditionally trained artist. It's stable, it's stable, although a little bit old fashioned regarding the GUI, I felt immediately at home. After reading some parts of the manual and watching some tutorials i decided to use TVPaint for my first serious 2D Animation Project and until now (still working on it and on a tight deadline- cross my fingers) I'm just happy that such software exists (handcrafted in France).
There are also many fantastic examples in the gallery - it's like visiting a good art show: it gives you a boost for your own work and inspires you.
Aside from the many refined examples in the gallery the examples Paul & Sandra Fierlinger and works of Julien Regnard caught my eye, because they show the unique painterly and sketchy quality one can achieve with this software - just beautiful.
have a nice day and best regards
Simon
PS. English is not my native language - so excuse mistakes in grammar etc. in this and future posts
