Hi. I was working on an animation when the computer crashed. I was expecting it, so I saved my file. The thing is, the computer turned off while TVPaint was still saving (that's what I suppose).
Now, when I open the file it gets an error message then the program goes down.
No, there isn't any backup files. I was looking for solutions here in the forum and noticed that my TVPaint Backup wasnt activated (Great! -_-).


I really appreciate if anyone could help me retrieve hours of work, please.

I got it!
Not only some files of TVPaint have been affected but also other ones from different kinds of softwares. AVG detected a virus so...this will take me some time to fix.

What specific version of TVPaint 9 are you using?

I should add that TVP crashes when I really proceed.

Icatalo, it appears that you are currently using a cracked version of TVPaint Animation 9 Professional Edition.

You didn't pay for the software and you dare to come on the TVPaint forum and ask question to the TVPaint staff and to honest TVPaint users ?
Worst : you dare to COMPLAIN about the fact your cracked version damaged your TVPaint files ?

I advise you that should buy a proper license from TVPaint Développement.

The "I'm another victim" comment in the title of the post is a bit offensive , since that warning message indicates the use of a cracked version of TVPaint.
How does that make YOU the "victim" ?

Do the decent thing and purchase a proper license of TVPaint , then you won't have this sort of problem with your files.

2021 and I started receiving this message on my files after I updated to 11.5 a few months ago. In 17 years of using this software, I have NEVER owned a pirated version of TVPaint, ask my mentor Paul Fierlinger BUT, I am getting this warning message (with no loss of files, just upon opening) and wonder if anyone has been seeing it after their most recent update?

I've had this too with some files, that were saved from the Android version.
In which version of TVPaint exactly did you see this message ?

Anyway, please also note that this warning is not about your version of TVPaint !
It warns the user about the illegal version used to save the project ; because it means that the project file may also contain viruses or trojan horses.
