Datenhamster 1 - 3

This was a very rushed job for the german Pirate Party. It makes fun of the current Federal Minister of the Interior, Hans-Peter Friedrich, who doesn't really seem to grasp what PRISM does to democracy world-wide. That's why the voice-over uses the tone from german children's TV show "Sendung mit der Maus".

Animated and painted in TVP, assembled in AS as usual. This is my standard workflow now.

Part of the deal was that I had to put the video under CC-BY license, which means that everybody might remix or do whatever with it. That's a first for me and I'm curious about any results.

A second and maybe a third clip are already in production.

When you say "assembled in AS", do you mean you are compositing or sequencing in AS (Anime Studio)? Why not do everything in TVPaint?

Because I like AS' much faster way with camera, and the ability to easily replace elements, correct them, re-import them, without having big files. I like to improvise and make up stuff on the way.
Editing is done in FinalCut.

I really like how you defined his character, by his poses and movements.

Thank you. In fact there's not really much character animation in here:
- walk cycle
- trembling
- crouching
- seat turn
- head turn
- dream pose
- debating.
7 elements for 3 spots. I'd call this economical, others may say "cheap"!

hehe I didn't noticed it, so I would call it economical. I would always try to do 7 good elements ( like you did ) and use them twice then 14 elements, which are not nearly as good.

Datenhamster 2 + 3 - in 3D!

A friend informed me that Datenhamster 2 and 3 are in 3D on youtube!

I can't check this, but anybody with a 3D monitor or whatever you use for it should try it. There's a switch in the youtube settings for each movie. My friend assured me that it was working perfectly for him.

It seems that youtube does this conversion automatically during upload. Did this happen to anybody else?
