Center images?

My next project involves the processing of several thousand images (photographs, illustrations, scans). (It's replacement animation in a collage style.) While TVP already is increadibly helpful (and faster than PS) in some tasks, I miss some functions.

- Importing a bunch of images still only works as long as they're named similar enough, like text_number. Right now I use a renaming tool before importing. It would be nice to be able to import just a folder's content no matter how funny the images are named or which file format they are.
- If the first image is somewhat smaller than the following, any larger image will be cropped, even when I created a large enough project. Right now I must open the first image in PS and create some more canvas around it.
- I like to be able to automatically center each image in the timeline, dependent on transparent pixels around it. Right now I have to do this by hand.

(Things which TVP does very good:
- Scan cleaner. There's not even an equivalent in PS.
- Cut out stuff, deleting unwanted portions. Rotating the canvas is so immensly useful here.
- Colouring stuff.)

Interesting idea, indeed.
Anyway, I don't know if that could be possible to add.

So, how would you like TVPaint behaves ?

But, that's already the case.

OK, this is how it works now:
Let's say I have a bunch of image files of different dimensions. 100x100, 150x150, 200x200px large. These files are PNGs with the content centered on transparent.
I have a project which is larger than the images (!).
TVP imports the whole bunch into this, starts with the first image centered - and then crops all other images to 100x100px.
If I add empty space around the content and make the first file 500x500px, the subsequent smaller images don't get cropped - but they're all placed at the top left corner position of the first imported file, so their content isn't centered any more.

Obviously TVP's import routines were written with lots of uniform files in mind.

(Isn't it funny that we talk about a program's "behaviour" like it were an animal or a spoiled child?)

Ok, but what if your bunch of files, you have something in 150 x 200px ?

It's logical, and it works the same with the custom brushes, when you optimize the brush.

That's weird, my images are alaways in the center of my drawing space

Yes, that's fun :p
TVPaint is our baby, you know
