TVPaint Training/Certification?

Does TVPaint Developpement have or plan to have a program of instructor training in the TVP software? I enjoy learning the features of TVP and sharing this information with others, and TVP is still for now a less-common software in the US. Unlike Adobe software, which has thousands of people who teach and make tutorials, TVP has only a few resources besides this forum. I know you have some connections with studios and schools here in the US, but is there a way to become a certified instructor of TVP? I would be very interested in becoming one.

It depends on the place you are but yes, many People are able to teach you tvpaint. The tvpaint team itself, but also may users like David Nethery, Paul Fierlinger, Chad Essley...

I was wondering about the question myself. Would a title like that help you get a teaching position in a school?

Don't think so. I just showed my website, it was convincing enough to get me the job.
Also it's not only about the knowledge of how to use TVP, but also the ability to teach - which is a completely different thing.

this is my experience as well. Actually after a few rudimentary pointers from me,students seem to get quite easily into the workings of the software all by themselves because they have to use the program from the first minute to actually work on a real project, which is the best way for even a self-taught person to learn. As for being a good teacher it often depends on how good the students are.

There are so many ways to use TVPaint (drawing, animation, storyboard, pixel-art, FX, rotoscopy, workflow management, ...) so we can't deliver any official instructor certificates (In fact, we only know specialists).
Otherwise all outsourcing companies will get a such certificate (or false ones), without having any real skill. Then will come all the troubles with producers, working with those outsourcing companies, etc.
But don't be afraid to explain your project a little bit more. Do you need a specific document to work as teacher in a school ?
If I can be of any help, I would be happy to do so.

I moved your topic, as it has nothing to do in the "Made with TVPaint" sub-forum

I don't have any specific project or job in mind. I currently teach private students and feel personally OK about teaching TVP when there is a demand for it, but would feel even more confident if there were an official program for all the essentials. TVP is complex software and I'd like to learn it as thoroughly as possible. I understand what you mean, though -- there are so many different ways of using it, there is no single training an instructor could have that would apply to all uses.
Having worked in IT in the past, and having done some Adobe-based training, I'm susceptible to the lure of "certified" trainers, like they have for Photoshop etc. Not that "uncertified" trainers are necessarily worse, but having that badge on the scout uniform can be reassuring.

Yes and no. As Fabrice said, what if a training center deliver false certificates imitating "our" certificates ? How would choose the persons ? With exams ? No, we don't have the time for that.
Nowaday, when someone applies for a job using a specific software, (s)he asked to do some tests (animation, color, clean...) with this software. This is the best certificate ever
If you are looking for a teacher, I think Slowtiger's solution is the best one.
