Dear Forum Users,

I am experimenting with the direction-setting for the angle of a brush. The problem I have is, that when I start to draw, the brush is circling around in the first moments. Is there any possibility to manipulate the sensitivity of the stylus to avoid that behaviour? Maybe inside TVPaint or maybe inside the wacom driver or somewhere else. I haven't found anything yet.

Yes, it's annoying. I manage to cope with it with starting the line a bit before I actually touch the tablet, so TVP knows the direction first.

Another trick would be to have 1 or more empty images at the beginning of your loop, the use "Start&Once", but that's very restrictive.

I'd like to have more options for loop behaviour, to get more subtle control, but have to have coffee first ...

Ah, but I very much would like to have a checkbox "Use current brush settings" when cut out an AnimBrush - this would be so helpful while experimenting with brush creation, because very often I want to test different images with the same brush settings.

Markus, this is already there... do you know the keep option in the CutBrushtoolpanel?
That will keep all current Custombrush settings when you cut a new one.

Another option for brush experimenting that I use all the time is a button I created called "Brush Remix" which was part of a 3 button custom panel you can download here. How to use "Brush Remix" is included on that page.

OK, found it ... but would never sought it there. "Keep" doesn't say much ...

Something you could try: modify the Size profile so that it stays flat (at zero) until 25% pressure, then jumps vertically to 25% size and then proceeds at a steady incline to max pressure. This way drawing is slightly delayed until brush direction has time to take effect. I use it for some of my directional texture brushes.

In your example, since your size is Constant, create a Size Profile that stays flat at 0% pressure until 25% pressure then jumps vertically to 100% size and stays there.

The combination of slowtigers hint (empty frame(s) in anim brush) and svengalis hint (editing the pressure profile for size) brought the best results.
