Can't replace sound file. (10.5 standard)

Hi - I can't replace (or even delete )the sound file in the timeline. I try 'load sound' button but nothing changes.
(elsewhere in the forum I saw a screen grab where there was a little black arrow you could click to show the delete tab but none exists in my version.)

Have you updated your softwar ? The last version is 10.5.7

I'm having trouble installing the latest update (another forum topic)
Can you please tell me in the meantime, is what I'm doing the correct method? - are you meant to be able to just load a new file and it automatically replaces the old sound file?

Okay - I've updated. But it still seems to be a problem (above).

I was control-clicking (mac) but still nothing...
It worked when I went and set up my mouse with a secondary button.
