V10 Pro Not Responding freezes and crashes

Hello.
I run V10.5.2 64bit PRO on a Windows 7 machine with 8GB RAM. Working as I often do at high resolutions, with mixed imagery from Canon EOS @ 2592 x 1728 TV Paint will freeze during saves and renders. As I type this, I am waiting for a 3000 frame sequence of a single layer to save. The routine feedback is it will save 1% then go into the "Not Responding" in the windows title bar at the top of the screen for 15 to 20 seconds, then another 1% saves, maybe more, and another freeze, and on and on. It can take as long as 25 - 30 minutes to make a save. Not very workable. Roughly a third of the time, it fails to complete the save, with the software simply crashing with the "Windows is looking for a solution" box popping up. Hit cancel and that, and the program closes, work lost. I have cache file on a separate disc from working files directory. Machine is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 GHz machine.
HELP! Thanks, Casey

Save I started prior to typing initial message just finished. At least it didn't crash this time. Single layer 3060 jpeg frames. 19.1 GB final file size. 25 minutes to save.

I've just downloaded 10.5.7 and will see if that helps this issue. It was not clear there was an update, as I overlooked the built in update checker gizmo. Geeze....

That file size is correct. 3060 HDTV images take up that much space. But 19 GB is a very big chunk for any machine, unless you have some 36 GB RAM and a large SSD. You really should try to reduce the project size, aim at a maximum of 2 GB per project file.

- Split into smaller files of just some 100 frames.
- Try to recompute the images so you'll have less frames.
- Import as linked images.
