Questions about FXstack

So I'm pretty new to TVpaint (I'm using standard if it matters) and I'm trying to figure out how to put keyframes in to move certain pieces of artwork. I open up the FXstack, put in my desired keys, and preview it, but when I hit 'apply' and close the window, they go away. Am I doing it wrong? I'm assuming they work in standard since they're not grayed out.
Any help is appreciated.

When you say "hit apply" do you mean you click on the
Apply FX button at the bottom of the FX Stack , or are you hitting the Enter/Return key on your keyboard ?
Enter/Return key will not apply FX from the FX Stack. You must hit
Apply FX button .
(this is a little confusing because usually clicking the Enter/Return key will apply things like Transform Tool/Warp Tool, etc. , but it doesn't apply FX Stack)
You can also click the FX button shortcut in the Animator Panel to apply the FX.

- Add FX from Animator Panel.jpg (43.28 KiB) Viewed 11296 times

(*TVP Development team: This points out a minor inconsistency in the nomenclature that should be fixed : In the FX Stack the button says "APPLY" FX , but in the Animator Panel it says "ADD" FX . For consistency both should say
APPLY . )

Don't forget to select all frames in your target layer before you hit apply.
The keys you set will stay in the FX panel until you delete the effect. You can use them on other layers, and even save them in the bin for later re-use.

Thanks for your replies. I did figure out what it was. I had to change it from "apply image" to "instance" so that it would happen on all the frames in the sequence. Still learning.
A related question:
Is there any way to set the keys other than to inbetween evenly? I.E slow in/out?

activate "progress profile"
a click in the black/white rectangle opens up a graph editor that allows you to control the ouput of the fx along the timeline. (between the first and last key)

Like Peter mentioned above , activate the Progress Profile to add slow-in/slow-out to a move . To activate the Progress Profile put a check mark in the box and
double-click on the profile to bring up the Progress Profile curve editor.
Here's an example:

Adjusting the position of the points on the curve will change the speed of the move and the amount of slow-in/slow-out . You can preview the move to fine tune it before Applying it.
You can HOLD at a certain field for a number of frames if you flat-line the progress profile for the desired number of frames that you want to hold . Then continue the move after the flat-line .

Thanks so much!
Sorry if these are noob questions. The software is really good, but the names are a bit confusing.
