I have two TVPaint Pro installs and one of them exhibits an annoying bug. When I go out of TVP and check an email or something and then return to TVP, the pen does not function on the Cintiq, but only in TVPaint. Pen works in other apps which are running and the mouse works in TVPaint and all apps. The way to get the pen to work is to use the eraser a few times and then the pen seems to wake up and work just fine, until the next time I go and check email or use my web browser, or Photoshop or whatever. As I say, it does not happen at all on the other computer, just this one.

Both are Macs running Mavericks and the latest version of TVPaint Pro in 64 bit. Has anyone else heard of this issue? I reinstalled the Wacom driver, but that didn't fix it. Should I reinstall TVPaint?

I'm experiencing the same, but with intuos pro tablet. When I return to TVpaint from another software, there's no response. I get it to work by using expose, to reveal all the windows in mac. I have mac 10.7.5 and tvp 10.5.7. As far as I can recall, I don't think this occurred few months ago..

Hmm... it may be an issue with the Wacom drivers.
Are the drivers the same version on the other computer ? What is your Wacom driver version number ?

Interesting to know that someone else has this problem. I literally just installed the latest driver version 6.3.8-2 on both machines. The thing is, one could say it is the driver, but Wacom might say that if the pen works in every other application except TVPaint, it must be TVPaint. Still, mouse works in TVPaint, so why is that? Very confusing. Just as Kari says, I have to manipulate in some way to kind of wake the pen up and then it works until next time.

sure, but we had so many issues with their drivers (conflict with the dongle, loss of the mouse wheel signal, conflict with the lastest MacOS 10 version, etc ...), that the first reflex is to check if they are up-to-date on your computer and on our (TVPaint) computers.
Then we can compare and run some tests here at TVPaint. Then finally find what is wrong (which is the real aim behind Thierry's question).

Still, mouse works in TVPaint, so why is that?

Mouse and Stylus are two completely different technologies.

Absolutely. I am just making those points. It may very well be a Wacom issue and I totally get that.

I am now finding that I have the same problem on both stations, so it is not particular to just one. I hadn't noticed it before and it just started happening.

hmmm, please tell us your Wacom driver version + OS version, we will run some tests.

I experience the same with a Wacom Intuos 4 (on a iMac/OSX 10.8.5). When I open my mail or some other application, it takes a while for my pen to become responsive. Using a mouse works right away. Extremely annoying and dysfunctional. In Photoshop, on the other hand, works right away.

This may be a lead?
I was using yesterday a zoom h1 with audition. Today, I was just testing what might've caused this behavior and everything was working fine. Until I plugged in the zoom to work as an usb-microphone. Then when I switched back to tvp, it was unresponsive.

Something similar with you?

Hi Fabrice, Already mentioned above, but it's Wacom driver version 6.3.8-2 on a Mac running Mavericks 10.9.3. Cheers!

The one I've got is Wacom 6.3.8-2.

Forgot to say that the TVPaint Animation Pro version I've got is 10.5.2-64 bits.

Can you update to the latest version (10.5.7) and see if you still have the issue ?
