Audio spanning multiple clips within a project

Hi all,

Is there a way to lay an audio track (like music) over an entire project, spanning multiple clips? I'm working on an animatic that is very dependent on the timing of a song that spans the full project and I cannot figure out how to do this in TVPaint.

I am running TVP Pro 10.5.4 64 bits.

Thank so much!

Maybe this isn't even possible with TVPaint... Can anyone confirm, one way or another?

Do I need to do this in another program, like Premiere, or am I missing something within TVP?

hi Chris,

in the Project tab of the timeline panel, you have a [Add a SoundTrack ...] feature,
it should load a soundtrack running all over the (multiple clips) project,
then, you can use the option [Split Track to Clips],
take care that when you'll change one clip length (in or out point),
you will have to repeat the Split Track operation from the main track

Also under preferences/sound you can check "Play project sound in clip". I do believe you have this feature in TVP 10. This way you can listen to the same sound track in each clip without having to split the global track.

Oh my goodness, thank you both so much! I had never used the Timeline View in the Project tab before, so I did not know where the "add soundtrack" option was, or that it existed. This is a huge help. And Paul, yes, the "Play project sound in clip" is available in TVP 10, and this is also extremely helpful. Thank you, Paul and Zig! :)
