[SOLVED] Problem with export: Transparent png light effect

Hello! I'm currently working on my student film for my last year of animation school and I have run into a small problem, hoping someone here might know the answer.

Please note: The purple background on ALL images is a one color background behind the transparent images in order to demonstrate my problem.

I have always exported my animated characters as seperate transparent png-sequences. I'm later putting everything together with special backgrounds in Adobe Premier and this is a process that I really enjoy to work with.

The problem: Now I have this character with glowing eyes.

TVP:

I export the transparent sequence as usual, but something is off. When I open the png sequence in Premier the light coming from the eyes is not really visible anymore outide of the characters head. There should be some light surrounding him.

Premier:

If I open the pngs in other image editing software the light is also gone, so something is off with the pngs! However, if I export the sequence as tiff from TVP there is no problem in premier, but I'd rather have the much smaller filesizes of the compressed pngs. Something odd: If I try to import one of the exported pngs back into TVP however it looks JUST like it did before I exported it. Strange.

Exported png, imported back into TVP:

Thank you TVP Team and community for making TVP the best animation software there is! Really hope someone might have a clue what I'm talking about. Could I be doing something wrong when exporting the png-sequence?

These are my settings. TVP 64-bit, latest release.

First thing I do in similar cases is to experiment with the premultiply settings, in TVP as well as in the receiving program (AfterFX has that, I don't know about Premiere).

PNGs should never be premultiplied, that's why the "(PreMult)" is between parentheses.
Some software where buggy last century, that's why TVPaint allowed saving premultiplied PNG.
Don't do it anymore in this century :)

Hi RobPoke,

I advise you to use "no premultiply" to export your PNG.

Then, when importing your png in Premiere, be sure the alpha channel detected is also "no -premultiply".

Edit : Eric was faster :p

Thank you so much everyone! This solved it! Thank you, and WOW that was fast haha!

I just started the exporting so I was still new to this, but this is a precious lesson!

Again, thank you! I'll be sure to post the finished movie once it's done!
