Quicktime in Tvpaint 10.5 (32bits)

Post by Strampunch »

Hello there!

I'm trying to export my animation as a .mov video from the latest version available of tvPaint professional. I've been able to do so from my school's tvpaint version, but the option is not for choosing in my own version. Do I need to install a pack of codecs? Is there other video format I can export as that's not as heavy as .avi?

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

the quicktime option should be still there in the 32 bit version, as far as I know. Are you using Mac or Windows? Are the computers at your school Mac or Windows?

You can always export your animation as a PNG sequence and then import it to another program, if that helps.
Otherwise AVI is all that is left, I think.
MAC OS 12.6.2 - TVpaint 11.7.1 PRO 64bit, Wacom Intuos Pro

Are you running TVPaint 10.5 32bit on Mac or Windows ? I am running it on Mac and no problem exporting to Quicktime .mov here. You might need to install codecs , but if you are on Mac with Quicktime then you should already have the standard codecs like H.264 , etc. unless something accidentally got deleted.

If you must use the Internal .AVI export then make sure it's set to MOTION JPEG MODE (YUV mode or RGB or RGBA mode will make HUGE file sizes) . After exporting to .AVI if you still want it as a .MOV then if you have Quicktime PRO you can open the .AVI in QT Pro and Export to .MOV using the H.264 codec or Apple Intermediate codec , etc.
