I've been experimenting in TVPaint 11 with GEORGE scripts that manage GuideLine Lines functionality. Here is a short button/script for setting Vertical / Horizontal GuideLine Lines.

The button acts as a three-way toggle for H/V Guidelines:

First Click: Sets a Vertical Guideline Line and makes it red - so the cursor is an extended vertical red line.
Second Click: Turns the Vertical Guideline Line into a Horizontal Guideline Line and makes it green - the cursor is an extended horizontal green line
Third Click: Clears the Guideline Line.
Note that if you already have an active Guideline Line at some angle other than vertical or horizontal, it will be treated as if you requested a Vertical Guideline Line, sets it to red and makes it so.

Whatever drawing tool and colors you have currently selected will be used to draw straight lines vertically or horizontally.

I think the script demonstrates a general approach to GuideLines but I'd appreciate any feedback, good or bad. Thanks

Sven

I love the way that you toggle different options while clicking multiple times. Could be really usefull to asign one shortcut to multiple things, and if you use the modifiers you really can group a lot of things in a button.
