Camera moves

I want to do a camera move using the camera tool, but I want to have three positions. Once I set those up, I want it to go from A to B, hold on B and then move to C. I can't seem to figure out how to use the graph to achieve that and there is no info about how in the manual. Any tips?

These previous discussions about setting the Camera Tool coordinates may be some help to you:

.
a camera "hold" matches to a flat section in the camera's time profile.

Those are very helpful discussions. Thank you. Interesting to see that the camera is not considered a tool for final work. I wonder why not. Why not refine the way it works so that it can be? It feels a little more intuitive and direct than the FX panel approach and you don't have to render out a new camera move layer, which I like. It feels like it is very close to being really easy to use, but in any case, the discussions you linked really helped.

Maybe it is going too far to say the Camera Tool isn't considered a tool for final work (i.e. really intended for animatics , but not for final camera moves). I think for many simple camera moves it is more than adequate for final work. From discussions I've read here I think the next step in refining the Camera Tool will be to make the camera moves "keyframeable" , that is we we will be able to set keyframes for the camera positions , but it won't have to render out a new composite layer ,but will leave the layers untouched , and the camera move is applied to the scene when you EXPORT with the View set to "Camera View" .

My other request is to have the Camera Tool time/position profile editor incorporated directly into the timeline (as pop-up section like the Timeline Notes and the Sound ) rather than the time/position profile being a free-floating window , and it will automatically be extended to the length of the scene. I'm confident that these improvements will happen.

+1 for that. I like the ease of using the camera move tool, but would like it to be refined a bit more.
