Batch scanners with OS 10 and TVP 11?

There aren't any recent posts for this topic, but does anyone know of a good batch scanner to go with Mac OS10 and TVP 11?

How fast do you need the batch scanning to be ? And do you need the scanner to be capable of scanning full-size 12 Field animation paper or could you work on smaller A4 (letter) size paper ? There is a much wider range of available high-speed batch scanners for smaller letter-size paper . The fastest batch scanners that can handle full-size 12 Field animation paper are made by Fujitsu (such as the Fujitsu fi-6770 or Fujitsu fi-5530C2 ) but unfortunately Fujitsu does not make Mac drivers . VueScan makes a driver to use the Fujitsu scanners on Mac. You could also try using a software called fScanX which allows the Fujitsu high-speed scanners to work on Mac.

You pay for the speed with the Fujitsu scanners , they typically range from $3,000 - $6,000, depending on the model . I've seen them for slightly less on Amazon.

Much slower , but much less-expensive ADF scanners that will scan 12 Field size paper and work on a Mac are the Epson Workforce WF-7510 or Epson Workforce WF-7520 , and the Brother MFC-J series : Brother MFC-J6920DW , Brother MFC-J6520DW , Brother MFC-J6720DW . Those scanners are in the $150 - $299 range (Amazon has the best prices).

*Note that when you ask about: "a good batch scanner to go with Mac OS10 and TVP 11?" as far as I know TVPaint 11 running on Mac can not acquire scans directly from the scanner . When I go to File Menu > ICA > it lists my Brother scanner as an available device , but when I click on it it opens a blank scanner interface , nothing happens ; this is the same issue with scanners as in TVPaint 10.5. I don't know if other scanners will work directly with TVPaint 11 on Mac , maybe , maybe not.

However, the workaround is simple: first, make all the scans , naming them in a numerical sequence starting at 0001 with a prefix , such a A_0001.png , A_0002.png , A_0003.png , etc. , saved to a folder on your computer . Then after completing the scanning sequence import the scans into TVPaint.

I would be needing to batch scan 10-1/2" X 12-1/2" paper. It doesn't need to be super-fast, but reasonably fast would be good.
Your work-around of scanning to a folder and then importing sounds as though it would be a pretty simple process that would only add one additional step. That may be the way to go.

Yes, it really doesn't slow you down at all , even as an extra step . Once all the scans are finished it's fast and easy to import them all at one time into TVPaint. Then run the Scan Cleaner and Peg Holes Registration on the imported images .

For 10.5" x 12.5" paper (12 Field) any of the Epson or Brother scanners I mentioned in my post above would work. Those scanners are not super fast like the high-speed Fujitsu production scanners (which can scan between 35 - to - 50 pages per minute) , but they are faster than scanning your drawings one at a time on a flatbed scanner , putting the drawing on the peg bar, closing the scanner lid , make the scan, lift the scanner lid , take the drawing off the peg bar , repeat the process with the next drawing ...
