I would like to make two different keyboard shortcuts. One for freehand cutbrush set to copy and one for freehand cutbrush set to cut.
(I can only see how to assign a shortcut for "Brush: Cut Freehand")

Is it possible?

Long needed, but wouldn't a single toggle command between the two work better than having two commands? My work around over the years has been to keep cut by default and when I need copy I cut and hit Undo which makes the object stay at my pen's tip and reappear in its original place at the same time. The single undo command works like a single toggle command.

I use copy most of the time. When I switch to cut I often forget that it stays on. The next time I want to copy something, it gets cut out and I have to undo. It is no big deal but a little bit annoying.
I would prefer to have two separate shortcuts.

Doesn't the cutbrush tool react to F2 and F3 any more?

Yes, it does! I didn't know that.
I will still forget that cut is enabled and cut things out when I want to copy them. But I will give it a try.
