Is there a way to get a micro dongle?

Dear TVPaint-Team,

I know it was discussed before (http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7995), but I would honestly ask, if there is a way to change my normal sized Sentinel-Dongle to this Sentinel Micro Dongle?
http://www.safenet-inc.com/software-mon ... -maxmicro/

I don't know how much it would cost and if you ever tested this micro dongle, but since I use a tablet (Wacom Companion) with TVPaint i really wish to have this little one. Are there any news?

Many thanks,
Animark

It's just more convenient when you use a nomad device such as a Cintiq Companion 2 ; otherwise you might break the dongle or have some discomfort if your arm/hand touch it when drawing.

I know you don't have direct influence on the dongles, but I wonder if there are any news on this topic, since Safenet is now gemalto and doesn't sell these safenet dongles anymore.

Changing dongle technology is not that quick and finally, it will bring new great improvements... stay tuned and don't worry : we will release a huge newsletter when everything will be ready :D

First post. :) I'm an artist who just purchased the software a few days ago, and understand TVPaint's (a relatively small software company next to Adobe or the like) need for the dongle system to protect their property. That said, I primarily use a Wacom Cintiq Companion, and can guarantee that the dongle will get broken, or just as disastrous, break the USB port that it protrudes from, sooner or later. Thus I'm really looking forward to the mini dongle that TVPaint will adopt in a few months. :)

...But in the mean time I've found a very crude, but actually quite pragmatic solution using a certain kind of hub with a short cable and small USB connector. It's basically just stuck on the tablet with bluetack, wherever appropriate, so as not to get in the way when drawing, not to hinder the way the tablet sits, and most importantly (more-or-less) protect the dongle and USB port from getting broken with a bump. I've attached a pic of one such "configuration" of this "high tech" solution. Let me know what you guys think. :D

EDIT: And, of course, there is the swivelling USB adapter, which I have ordered, and also apparently works reasonably well when you position it parallel with the tablet... but it still takes up one of my two USB slots. :?

We keep working on smaller dongles and dongleless solutions + other related options.
Please wait a few months.

I didn't mean to suggest that the TVPaint crew isn't working hard at solving this problem for tablet users. In fact, during my limited correspondence with Elodie in purchasing the software, and then watching some of her tutorials, I have to say that you guys have some excellent customer service, and your paranoia about losing your product to piracy is justified. I understand the need for anti-piracy measures, and the fact that new technologies sometimes take a bit of time to adopt. So I am more than happy to wait a few months to see what solution you'll offer... you know I mean it when I say that this is excellent, one-of-a-kind software, because I chose to purchase at full price despite that OpenToonz was released for free (open source) only days before. Not to mention that I love your French team, and I have a big ol' crush on Elodie.

My semi-humorous solution with the bluetack was just a temporary measure... something that I've chosen to do in the mean time...

I didn't read your post in this way, no harm done, no worries :)
I just wanted to join the discussion and say that we are still working on it (a short informative post as it has been asked for a long time now).
