Quick question about squiggly line effect

I went through all of the TvPaint documentation tutorials on the site from start to finish a while ago. I remember reading about a certain effect, but I can't remember where in the documentation it was, and I tried looking and am having a hard time finding it (there are so many tutorials).

The effect made it so that a drawing would have lines that are constantly "wiggling around" in the animation automatically. For example, in the cartoon show Ed Edd n Eddy:

What is this effect called and where can i find the documentation tutorial for it?

Thank you

Maybe the FX Distorsion > Optical Flow , with the random mode.

i'm not sure optical flow will do the trick, and its rather processor heavy.
The new brushspreading effect might fare a bit better (also quite heavvy unfortunately)
Be aware they could both look very much like a filter laying over your drawing.
because there is no regard for what the lines represent.

By far the best looking option is to simply do two tracebacks for each held frame and loop the 3 drawings with the "repeat images" option in the layer (value = 6 (namely 3 frames on doubles))

you'll just have to do some testing and see what works for you.

I agree with Peter, I think Repeat images would be better.

I agree this is the best way to get the effect you want.

The only way I was sort of able to simulate the effect I think you want by applying FX was to apply Shaker FX (very small increments X and Y ) and apply Noise FX to the line art , the duplicate the layer and offset the duplicate by a few pixels over and down , then merge the two layers. Then color as normal. That creates a "held" drawing that has shaky lines . But for all that trouble it would be just as fast or faster to draw a few tracebacks and repeat them .

The squiggly effect you are asking about is covered in
