Hello together,
I was afraid of updating to 11.0.3 because of expected incompatibilities with older versions. I decided not to update. The TVPaint-Team wrote (
http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9058" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;):
There are a LOT of changes in the 11.0.3, and one of the most important is that :
Projects saved with v11.0.3 using CTG layers will not be able to be (fully) read with previous versions of TVPaint Animation 11 !
In this release, we fixed a (very annoying) bug related to projects made in the Professional Edition that couldn't be opened in the Standard Edition.
Unfortunately, the fix broke the compatibility with previous versions of TVPaint Animation 11.
For me this reads like there is no backwards compatibility at all, as long as you work with CTG-Layers.

The only thing missing would be effects created in 11.0.3 (such as CTG layers) that did not previously exist in 10.5.7 .
in this case, the CTG is converted as an Animation Layer.
After reading Fabrice post, I thought, that it is maybe not sooo bad, to update. But it is difficult to decide. Is there a list of all possible incomtabilities between 10.5.7 and 11.0.3? If there is just a break (convert) of the CTG-layers, but the projects are still usable, it could be a good idea, to update the info-posting (
http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9058" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
Or is it in the end just a incompatibilitie between 11.03 and former versions of 11, while there is no problem between 11.03 and version 10 (except the things that doesn't exist in older versions)?
