Just to make things clear :

• open v11 files with TVPaint 10.5.7 : files are 100% loaded. CTG layers are considered as anim layers, so you will see squiggles first, then the coloured shapes.
• open v11.0.3 files with TVPaint 11.0.0, 11.0.1 and 11.0.2 : files are 100% loaded to BUT if you were using CTG, the ways colours are applied can be inacurate, for we fixed a bug between 11.0.2 and 11.0.3. Obviously, if you open v11.0.3 files with TVPaint 11.0.3 OR if you open old v11 files with TVPaint 11.0.3, everything will be fine.

In any case, the file will open, which is the topic.

Here's an example of what you will see : On the left, a project in v11.0.3 with a CTG Layer, and on the right, the same project opened with v10.5.7.

My 11.0.0 files (64 bits) did not work in 10.5.7 (64bits). We were using 11.0.0 to take advantage of the CTG layers - a great edition and nice to get away from the bugginess of lazy brush. But whole layers of art just disappeared. They were not links they were art layers created in TVP and there were not moved over to another clip. They were definitely gone. I went back and forth multiple times because I didn't know what was going on. All my TVP licenses are legit too:) I lost work in trying to figure this out as up until that time we hadn't had a problem. So I would back up and be careful how you name files if you are going backwards. Just saying

You should update to version 11.0.3 it should b fix the issue, for developers did a hard work to keep both version compatible.

Only the 11.0.3 is fully compatible with 10.5.7 (not 11.0.0 nor 11.0.1 nor 11.0.2)

The version of 11.0.3 had just been updated that morning. One file opened ok on 10.5.7 the other two did not. The problem on my end could be the number of layers. Lots of them and all of them coloured using the CTG

Sorry my previous post was in reference to 11.0 to 10.5.7 compatibilty. My new issue is with 11.0.3 to 10.5.7. See why you thought I hadn't updated but we had done once I read all the posts. We have been having problems going from 11.0.3 to 10.5.7 but I think I solved it. If the CTG layer on the 11.0.3 file is not converted to an anim layer then it comes in wonky on 10.5.7 - or doesn't show up. They (the artists working on 11.0.3) had been forgetting to convert the layer because it looks right on 11.0.3. Does that make sense on your end?

happy to see you found a workaround, but ... well, you shouldn't have to convert your file CTG layers at first.
if possible try to send us your unmodified 11.0.3 file, so we can check there is not hidden bug.

Sure will do - this is what I got in 10.5.7 before she converted it to an animation layer. What should have been a solid paint colour remained a squiggle. Oh and THANK YOU for fixing this with 11.03. Its saving my bacon at the moment!

I think I got it.
In fact, when you open the file in the 10.5.7, the converted CTG layer shows the squiggles at first, then the colored shape (look at the timeline in the exemple that Thierry posted below)

It doesn't in mine - it just showed the squiggle all the way through. My files are huge so I couldn't add it as an attachment - but its all good Too crazy busy now finishing this stoopid thing!
