When I use my Intuos 3 - Wacom drivers 6-3-15.1 - on my MacBook Pro (El Capitan) - with different spaces option uncheck, I have no problem at all !
Whatever if I import images or go out of TVPaint interface : my stylus is always recognized.

I updated my driver to 6.3.15-3 and turned off the "every display has it own space" option, but the problem persists. Maybe it has something to do with the Cintiq ? But as I said, this happens only in TVPaint. The quickest workaround is Peters: Touch the surface of the Cintiq once with the back of the pen and TVPaint recognizes the nib again. But it's still a bit annoying, especially if you need to switch a lot between TVPaint and some reference footage.

Ok, I will test with a Cintiq then (I tested with an Intuos, and the only moment I have such an issue is when I use mirror display).

Hmm; test done with Cintiq 22, no issues...

Damn, maybe Simone, Peter and I could share our specs here, to locate the problem? The cintiq seemed like the only constant here, since Peter is using Windows and Simone and I OS X.

Thanks Joanna !
Have you also disabled "Displays have separated spaces" too ?
I have other questions for all of you :
• Is TVPaint extended on several screens ?
• How many screens do you use simultaneously ?
• Can you all make sure you have downloaded and installed latest Wacom drivers ?
• What is your Mac OS ? (I'm using El Capitan)

Hi Elodie here are answers to your questions...
- 'Displays have separated spaces' box is disabled.
- I have TVP extended across 2 screens - my Cintiq and my monitor.
- I am using a 22" touch Cintiq and a Thunderbolt mac monitor
- I have the latest wacom drivers - I just checked.
- My OS system is 10.9.5 - Mavericks I believe?
The other things I have plugged in is a little bamboo tablet instead of a mouse and a keyboard.
Hope this helps. By the way I am in Cardiff and there are hundreds of jolly Frenchmen in Berets walking down my street all going to Le Rugby tonight

Thanks Joanna (Peter, Schwargrau, Simone, you own answers are welcome too).
That's weird. I thought first it was *another* Mac-relating bugs, but Peter and his Windows screw my theory up
Even if I put Peter's issue aside, I cannot have this issue (save when I am using mirror display, which is none of your case).
Simone, Schwargrau, Joanna : what if you enable "displays have separated spaces" ? Do you still experience that issue when going outside TVPaint interface ?

Madam, could you tell us how kind you using connect plug between Mac Pro with Cintiq 22" ?
That's interesting information . My older Macbook Pro had a full size DVI-I port (as shown on first row of the image above) ,
but now the newer Macbook Pro's only have Thunderbolt and a DVI - to - Thunderbolt adapter must be used.
For quite some time now I've been using an Intuos 5 tablet , not my Cintiq , (this is because what was my studio space in a spare bedroom has had to be used for something else, so I have had to downsize ) I will have to check it to see if I have a problem with the Cintiq now on my newer model Macbook Pro.

Thank you Ten-Zero for pointing this out : that was actually my next questions, after collecting other answers
I used the basic DVI cable provided with Cintiq 22" and it was connected to my Mac through a Thunderbolt cable : no problem so far with my MacBook Pro and our Cintiq 22.
However, I'm afraid this is not related to the display (even if it's an interesting clue). As I said, I'm used to this issue, but only when I use my Intuos and use Mirror display on a second screen, connected to my Mac through an HDMI cable.
Or maybe it's a different issue...
And have you tested "Reset your Mac Pro's PRAM or NVRAM" after installed the latest Wacm tablet driver and repluged ?
Hmmm, interesting ! I shall read that on Monday, I'm exhausted...

I just say "case by case", especially in between with Cintiq products and Apple Macintosh/MacBook (sometimes by connect cable trouble).
Spoiler : out of this issue :
When I used Cintiq HD 12+1" with Mac mini (2012, same motherboard as MBP 2012), the mirror mode can use only (none display switching on and off & enable drawing) in connected ;
01. intuos 4 S <=> Mac mini USB 2.0/3.0 port directly
02. Cintiq unite cable <=> Mac mini USB 2.0/3.0 port directly
03. Cintiq unite cable <=> Mac mini Thunderbolt/HDMI adapter
04. Mac mini HDMI <=> EIZO "MGS" collaboration display DVI-D/HDMI adaptor
The latest ... means "more limited port" model, some user may required to purchase USB 3.0 <=> HDMI converter.
* Attention *
In each case WACOM alerts "it's operation warranty".
Finaly I decided to only use intuos 4 S for avoid eyestrain & careless about display port problem.
I’m puttiong on Yupo ( one of a waterproof paper, wood pulp free ) for cover sensor pad + using Wacom Elastomer pen refill.

Now time to rest. Have a good weekend.
I attached this for next Monday Apple (France) : Réinitialisation de la mémoire NVRAM de votre Mac

So my specs are:
Cintiq 22 HD
OS X 10.9.8 (I'm not sure about the last digit, since I'm not at this computer at the moment)
Driver 6.3.15-3 (the latest available)
Connected through the DVI-cable that comes with the Cintiq (no adapters)
I got one other display connected (also trough DVI)
TVPaint 11.0.2 Pro 64bit (only stretched over the Cintiq)
I'm not sure if it's important or just even more confusing, but I'm running a hackintosh.
And the problem persists no matter if I turn off or on "Displays have separated spaces"
Elodie wrote:Do you still experience that issue when going outside TVPaint interface ?
No, the problem only occurs inside of TVPaint, all other apps still recognize the pen.
I'll try reseting the NVRAM later, but I guess that's not the problem, cause I got this issue already since 10.5.something

Both questions were linked (it was the same question actually) : I was not asking if it was working wrong on other software, I was asking if activating "Displays have separated spaces" fixed the issue. (I want to know if it is related, since I don't have that issue - except when using mirror display).
BTW, when you activated "Displays have separated spaces", have you logged off and on again ?
