This problem is probably very easily solved, but I'm a stumped newbie so I figured this was the fastest way to get some help. I cannot erase on one layer of a new clip I just started. I'm using the sketch panel, all layers are drawn with red pencil, none are locked, and three can be erased successfully. One in the middle, however, is unchanged, no matter how I make new frames or which eraser I try to use. What button did I press to mess this up?

I guess you locked not the layer but the transparency. Which TVPaint version do you use?

I'm using TVPaint 10 standard edition. I'll admit to that being a strong possibility, but I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure how to tell. There are options next to each layer (view, lock, lighttable, truth be told I never use the other two) but none are highlighted. Its not locked, the visual is on, its set up exactly like the other ones as far as I can tell. Should I check something more specific, am I on the wrong track?

could you post a screenshot of the whole screen? I'm not sure if it will help, but maybe I can spot something.

I don't know if this illuminates the situation at all, but let me know if there's more information I can send that might be more helpful. "Arms" is the layer that is stuck.

Yes, the first step to solving the issue would be to update to the lastest version 10.5.7 . How to do it ? -- simply go to the Help Menu > Check for Updates . If you are a registered user then you'll be taken to a page where you can enter your Lock/Unlock codes and download the free update to 10.5.7 .

I know this post is old but did you ever find a solution? I am having the same problem.

It seems this problem is fixed in 10.5.7
